Raja Mannar plans to designate Vardharaja Mannar, his son, as his heir in Khansaar. But the ministers and advisers of Raja Mannar plot to remove him from power. They employ forces from Serbia and Russia to attack Vardha and destroy the Raja. Vardha, his brother, and a few devoted supporters escape the mayhem. Vardha seeks solace in his boyhood best friend Deva, who, upon hearing of the treachery, vows to assist Vardha in regaining his rightful position as Khansaar's unchallenged monarch.

In Matera, Italy, a portion of Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire was filmed.
On January 27, 2021, principal photography was underway at a location in the Telangana town of Godavarikhani.[33] Haasan began working on the project two days later.[34] Prabhas supposedly starred in an action scene that was filmed. One day afterward, a photo of Prabhas taken on set was leaked to social media and went viral, which prompted the arrangement of strict security during the filming process.[35] Cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda declared the first leg to be over on February 8.
Following production
According to Vijay Kiragandur, visual effects work would take about six months, in December 2022.[26] Post-production work was reportedly relocated to composer Ravi Basrur's studio in Basroor village, Karnataka, by August 2023 in order to assure security and prevent leaks.[53] Midway through August 2023, Shruti Haasan started dubbing her parts in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi. She finished her dubbing at the beginning of September.[54] By December 10th, Prithviraj Sukumaran would follow suit.[55]
Follow-up
The film's sequel, Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam, is currently being worked on.[103] Kiragandur declared in January 2024 that the sequel would be out in the latter part of 2025 and that the screenplay was completed.[104]
